Pearl Jam will release their much-anticipated eleventh studio album, Gigaton, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on March 27, 2020 in the US. Internationally, the album will be released and distributed by Universal Music Group. Produced by Josh Evans and Pearl Jam, Gigaton marks the band’s first studio album since GRAMMY award-winning Lightning Bolt, which was released on October 15, 2013. “Making this record was a long journey,” explains Mike McCready. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times. Gigaton’s cover features Canadian photographer, filmmaker, and marine biologist Paul Nicklen’s photo “Ice Waterfall.” Taken in Svalbard, Norway, this image features the Nordaustlandet ice cap gushing high volumes of meltwater. In support of Gigaton, Pearl Jam will embark on their first leg of North American tour dates in March and April. The 16-date tour kicks-off on March 18 in Toronto and wraps with a two-date stint in Oakland April 18-19.

Assos Equipe RSR Bib Shorts S9The Assos Equipe RSR Bib Shorts S9 push technical performance and race-bred comfort to a new level. Going back to the drawing board Assos designers have paid attention to every detail to create the lightest and most refined racing shorts possible.Developed with Pros. Ridden by You.Having entered back into the milieu of the Pro Tour Peloton, Assos have made full use of the knowledge and feedback from pro riders. With a Grand Tour or Classic taking in all weathers, varying road surfaces, steep climbs, manic descents and sprints a lot is demanded of a pair of shorts. This has pushed the engineering team to create innovative solutions focused on delivering the finest fit, comfort and support for the demanding cyclist. The final result is the Equipe RS Bib Shorts S9 with A-Lock engineering. A-Lock EngineeringAt the heart of this bib short is a new Assos concept, A-Lock Engineering. Using a combination of new construction methods and materials, Assos' engineers have managed to create a short where the seat insert remains in the perfect position at all times. They start with a brand new fabric, Type.701kompressor. This is a patented complex woven textile that uses ultrathin yarns which are extremely elastic, delivering a near-frictionless weave to provide you with luxurious comfort and incredible muscle support. It really is akin to a second skin such is it's fit, performance and flexibility. Pedalling has never felt easier. This new fabric is then carefully tailored using a brand new panel design to create an incredibly stable platform for the seat insert. Where their S7 shorts use four panels, the S9s reduce this to just two, lessening bulk, reducing seams and hence increasing comfort. The two panels form a unique 'butterfly' shape, wrapping around the legs snugly to form what Assos have named their ergoBox structure. It is this which keeps the seat insert perfectly positioned, whether you're in the saddle, out of the saddle, sprinting or climbing. Brand New Bib DesignAssos have also completely redesigned the bib straps on the S9 RSR. The bib straps themselves are made with highly elastic materials, a single Y-frame piece in the back creating the ideal level of support for the shorts while exerting minimal pressure. Meanwhile, the front of the shorts uses an antibacterial carbon weave, wicking away moisture incredibly quickly for intense comfort. Forgoing the rollBar design of the RS shorts also reduces weight and bulk, boosting freedom of movement. These are bib straps you'll barely realise are there. S9 InsertAt the heart of the S9 Shorts is the S9 insert, taking race-focused comfort to a whole new level. Assos use an incredibly soft antibacterial microfiber next to the skin and when combined with the kraterCooler ventilation holes at the front of the pad you're guaranteed all-day freshness. Next comes a 3D three-layer perforated waffle foam which both boosts breathability and reduces weight and bulk. Lastly, the superAir microShock foam core offers incredible shock absorption and memory return, it re-adapts to your body position every time you shift weight, leading to unrivalled support when in and out of the saddle. A pad designed for the rigours of the World Tour so you get the very best comfort possible. Assos has once again pushed what is possible with performance cycling equipment. With incredible attention to every detail, every seam and fabric engineering, the Equipe RS Bib Shorts S9 will allow you to ride further and faster than ever, pushing performance to new heights.
